Wai Kruu Muay Chaiya

Thursday, 30 of March in the year of 2006, District of Bang Naa, in the outskirts of Bangkok, Kruu Villalobos went to pay his respects to the house of the grand Master of Muay Chaiya Kruu Thonglor Yalee.

On the celebration, many martial arts teachers performed their skills to the public. The meaning of the Wai Kruu Villalobos explains “is to come to pay respect to your teachers dancing or performing the Wai Kruu”; As well is good to meet different teachers of the same style and discuss different techniques.

The teachers of Muay Chaiya came from Hat Yai, Mingburi, Bangkok and Chiang Mai.

Kruu Villalobos was the first fight of the evening and made his appearance as a student of  Ajarn Kridakorn Sodprasert (Kruu Lek), showing his skills against another fighter of the Chaiya style on a free sparring session. Later the Krabi Krabong and the Chinese martial arts followed.
